Visa Overview

All international delegates traveling to India require a valid visa. India offers a convenient e-Visa facility for citizens of most countries, which can be applied for online. For ICA 2026, registered participants must apply under the Conference Visa category.

Delegates on a Conference Visa may also undertake personal travel and sightseeing within India, subject to the validity and conditions of their visa.

Recommendation: Initiate your application at least 8–12 weeks in advance as processing times vary.

Accompanying Persons

Accompanying persons who are not officially registered for the conference must apply under the Tourist Visa category, in accordance with Indian immigration regulations.

Note: Accompanying persons can attend designated social events and excursions but do not have access to scientific sessions or conference facilities unless registered as delegates.

Procedure for Obtaining Conference Visa

A Conference Visa is granted for Thirty days (30 days) from the date of arrival into India. Delegates may combine tourism with the conference during the visa validity period.

Instructions for Applying for an e-Conference Visa

a. After receiving the necessary documents from us, apply for the e-Conference Visa on the specified website: https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/evisa/tvoa.html

b. Follow these steps for the e-Visa application process:

Step 1 Apply online – Upload Photo and Passport Page. Sample Form for Indian eVisa
Step 2 Pay eVisa fee online – Using Credit / Debit card / Payment Wallet.
Step 3 Receive ETA online – Electronic Travel Authorization/ETA will be sent to your e-mail.
Step 4 Fly to India – Print ETA and present at Immigration Check Post where eVisa will be stamped on passport.
c. Document Upload Framework:

On the last page, international participants should upload the following documents:

  • Passport copy (6-month validity)
  • Invitation letter from ICA 2026
  • MEA (Ministry of External Affairs) clearance
  • Passport size photo

d. Upload the documents according to the file size instructions provided on the website.

e. Note: Within 2–3 days, participants will receive their e-Conference Visa. The e-Conference Visa is mandatory for attending the conference. Additionally, carry the invitation letter for immigration purposes, as it might be requested during entry. Please follow these procedures carefully.

Instructions for Applying for a Regular Conference Visa

a. Three-step Regular Visa application process (For those who are not eligible for eVisa):

Step 1: Apply online

Fill and submit Visa Application Form securely. Online application form can be filled using this link: Indian Visa online

Step 2: Submit documents

Submit your application with required documents at Indian Visa Application Center or at nearest Indian Mission.

Step 3: Receive passport/visa

Collect your passport/visa from Indian Mission/Visa Application Center or by post.

b. Note: Minimum 5 days, participants will receive their Conference Visa. The Conference Visa is mandatory for attending the conference. Additionally, carry the invitation letter for immigration purposes, as it might be requested during entry. Please follow these procedures carefully.

Prior Reference Category (PRC) & Restricted Areas

Special Ministry Clearances are mandatory for delegates from:

Afghanistan, China, Pakistan, Iraq, Sudan, foreigners of Pakistani origin, and Stateless persons.

Additionally, clearances are required for any visits to 'Restricted' or 'Protected' areas including Jammu & Kashmir and specific North Eastern States (excluding Manipur, Mizoram, and Nagaland).
